Horizontal projection of the temperature distribution at the plate boundary in the present day (0 Ma) obtained in this study. The contour interval is 100 °C. The temperature distribution is shown only in the region where the upper surface of the oceanic plate is shallower than the bottom of the model (200 km depth). The thin black box represents the horizontal projection of the model region. The red solid line and orange solid line denote the coseismic slip distributions of the 1960 Valdivia (Mw9.5) earthquake (Ho et al. 2019) and 2010 Maule (Mw8.8) earthquake (Moreno et al. 2012), respectively, with contour intervals of 5 m. The map was created by using Generic Mapping Tools (GMT) (Wessel and Smith 2016)
