Transects across the IPWP down to 500 m water depth along transects: the equator and at 10°S for two contrasting periods (February and August) that clearly show the upper part of the water column with low salinities (<34°S) resulting from significant monsoonal rains over the IPWP. Note the salinity stratification in the region. Data accessed at the same web site as that listed in Fig. 1
