Eyewitnesses leaving Ragusa after the 6 April 1667 earthquake. Pedro de Torres, archbishop of Ragusa, who found a temporary shelter in Ancona with 62 survived nuns; the Italian merchants Titta de Blasi and Panzatosta, who went straight back home, in Brindisi (Italy); Jacob van Dam, a Dutchman of a diplomatic team of 40, on route to Izmir and Constantinople, who travelled to Venice together with Etoille Hardin, a French tradesman.
